While cybersecurity is a headline threat—with Ethiopia facing a 115% increase in cyberattacks in 2024—physical security in bank branches remains a critical, daily operational risk. Overcrowded, chaotic lobbies are soft targets for theft, fraud, and social engineering. They also make it difficult for security guards to spot genuine threats.

Operational control is the first line of defense. Bank-Genie’s Lobby Management System acts as a crowd-control mechanism. By regulating the flow of people and ensuring that only called customers approach the counter, the system reduces confusion and clustering.

In the 2026 rollout, Banks in Ethiopia will utilize Bank-Genie's system to ensure that their branches remained orderly, safe environments. This structure allows security personnel to maintain better situational awareness, protecting both the bank’s assets and the physical safety of its customers and staff.
